Acid-Washed Activated Coal Carbon - Hadar Jacobson Preferred

This acid washed Coconut Shell Carbon is approved for use by Hadar Jacobson for use with all her powder metal clays. It will give most any project a clean, satin, golden brown patina after firing. You can then patina or finish your piece the same as other traditional bronze alloys. You can use this carbon with most any other brand of metal clay that calls for firing in activated carbon. Acid washed activated Coal Carbon will typically give your bronze creations a rainbow patina including blue, green, purple and gold after firing. Order the quantity for your firing vessel of choice.

Different types of carbon can differ in three different ways:

(1) The amount of ash they create

(2) The actual temperature they reach when the kiln displays a specific temperature

(3) How evenly they distribute the heat within the firing box.

This product is best at all three of these things.

Heating carbon to elevated temperatures can result in the release of carbon monoxide. Use in a well ventilated area.
