FASTfire BRONZclay™ is easily sculpted, molded, carved and formed, and becomes solid bronze when red. Your imagination and just a few simple tools will allow you to create solid bronze pieces from jewelry to sculpture and everything in between!  This new form of bronze clay does not replace the original BRONZclay, but adds a list of different characteristics.  Here are some great reasons to use FASTfire BRONZclay:
  • Fires in just 2 hours with full ramp speed
  • Joints are much easier to create
  • Finished color is a richer yellow
  • Easier to file and drill after firing
  • Shrinkage is less than 10%
  • Less cracking

Note: It has been noted that some CZ stones haze over when fired with FastFire BRONZclay.  The manufacturer is aware of this.  We suggest testing before use in a creation.  This does not happen with original BRONZclay.

Excellent product May 8, 2014
Reviewer: Linda from Gold Canyon, AZ United States
After a lot of experimentation I now get about 99 % success in sintering. My discovery was to put less carbon in the firing pan. Instead of  putting up to 1" of carbon in the bottom, as instructions say, I put no more than 1/2" of carbon in bottom & between layers. I ramp up at 1530 and hold at 1530 for 2 hours. My kiln is a Rio PC front loader.

Cannot get it to sinter - tried everything March 11, 2014
Reviewer: Jenny Ekberg from Westlake, Queensland Australia
Messed with firing temperature, ramp speed, types of carbon, firing container - still cannot get it to sinter. Went through an entire 200 g packange and NONE sintered. I have an SC3 kiln which works perfectly so I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Been doing metal clay for almost 10 years; every type of clay imaginable, even home-made shibori (Japanese alloy) clay and this has NEVER happened before.

Inconsistent Firings with Paragon SC2 June 28, 2013
Reviewer: Victoria / Pieces of II from Vancouver, BC Canada
I have a Paragon SC2 and I wish I knew what I was doing differently from the other two reviewers. I have fired several hundred grams of clay, and had very poor results.

The first few times, I followed the instructions and fired for a total of 2 hours - that resulted in no sintering, so I searched on the internet and tried a few different firing schedules.

So far, the most successful is ramping at 500F/hr to 1550F and holding for 2 hours. That's a 5 hour fire - and even with that, not all pieces sinter. Identical pieces come out with one sintered and the other not, and I have no idea why. If anyone has suggestions, please get in touch! You can reach me at victoria(at)piecesof2(dot)com

I'm hooked!! October 3, 2010
Reviewer: DJB/All Strung Out from Fountain City, TN United States
After constant and frustrating firing problems with regular BronzClay, I tried FASTFire.

My test piece blisterd (Paragon SC3 kiln), so I dropped the temp. to the manufacturer's recommendations and ...WOW!

I've done 6 firings (25+ pieces) so far and every piece has fired perfectly! Love the feel of the clay and the color; closer to a yellow gold look, very rich and warm looking.

I'm new to PMC, so my pieces were all flat, but various textures, sizes and thicknesses. I anticipate equally wonderful results as I progress in diffuculty.

When it's dry FASTFire is a more pliable/rubbery compared to regular BronzClay, but it's still leathery and easy to work with.

Most pieces come out of the kiln with a sticky film on them. I wash mine off with a bit of Dawn dish soap on an old tooth brush. Film always comes off quickly, easily and completely.

And what's not to love about a 3 hour total firing time compared to about 9 hours with BronzClay?!

GREAT STUFF!

FASTfire BRONZclay August 13, 2010
Reviewer: kathyb from Knoxville, TN United States
BronzClay and CopprClay are what I primarily work with -- so I ordered the clay immediately.  I have already used 3 of the 4 200g packages that I ordered.  The clay is very easy to use and does not dry out, crack or split as easily as the regular BronzClay.  All of my pieces sintered completely.  The fired pieces had a little sticky residue but it washed off completely.  The pieces were virtually crack free and the bails did not come apart.  I made a bezel with a skinny snake roll, attached it with distilled water, and it held nicely when fired.  I torched one of the fired pieces and got a lovely patina.  All the pieces polished beautifully.  I also like the lower shrinkage rate.  I highly recommend this Bronzclay.
