HattieS™ Ring Shank Guide™ is the ideal tool to help you create beautiful and perfect metal clay ring shanks! This guide eliminates the guesswork in rolling out rings to the right length and is also excellent for creating tapered and complex ring shanks. The guidelines have a bit of extra length built in to allow for a slight overlap of clay when placed on the ring mandrel to assure a strong joint. The grid lines are designed on center so that you can easily create evenly tapered shanks that are comfortable to wear when making wide band rings.

To use, roll out a long strip of metal clay 5 playing cards thick, then center clay on grid. Use colored guides on each end to trim shank length. Next, trim width of shank using black guidelines. Form shank on ring mandrel and secure joint with metal clay paste.
