Silver Solder

Silver solder is a must for connecting two items together. This half ounce of silver solder paste contains the flux necessary to keep the pieces free of oxidation while the join is made. It comes with two tips for more accurate application to your needs. There are three "grades" of our silver solder - Soft (1240F melt), Medium (1275F melt) and Hard (1365 melt). What is the difference? Well, if you are only soldering one item to another the choice would probably be Soft. If you wanted to join TWO items to another creation and had to do it in two steps you would first use a medium so that when you used the soft, the melt temperature being LOWER for the soft there is less chance that the heat would allow the first piece to melt and release because its melt temperature is higher. The Hard solder might be your choice where durability is a must as it is the strongest of the three solders. You could also use Hard solder with Medium for a two item job or all three grades can be used for more complex assemblies. Each item contains 1/2 troy ounce of solder.
