The Kingpin 88 combines classic style with Evenheat design and performance.

The Kingpin 88 is perfect for metal clay, jewelry and glass firing and is equipped with 10 preset metal clay programs (5 for Art Clay and 5 for PMC) along with 4 user defined custom programs for glass, beads and general firing.

The Kingpin 88 has 4 different door options:

Standard:
No Window

Viewing Window:
The Viewing Window is designed for applications up to 1800°F (982°C) non-continuous. That means all glass firing up to this temperature is absolutely acceptable. The viewing window is not designed for higher temperatures into the ceramic/porcelain/glass crucible range.

Bead Door:
This option includes a mandrel rest and cool-touch handle for relaxed use. Unlike other bead annealers you won't have to fight the kiln to use it.

Viewing Window - Bead Door combination:
This option includes a mandrel rest and cool-touch handle for relaxed use along with a wonderfully large viewing window to keep an eye on the action.

Set-Pro Control w/ Metal Clay Presets
The Kingpin 88 is equipped with our Set-Pro, 3 button control. The Set-Pro is loaded with 10 pre-set metal clay firing programs for quick and easy programming. Presets include 5 for use with Art Clay and 5 for use with PMC. The Set-Pro also contains 4 user programs that allow you to decide the firing details. Perfect for all types of work including glass, glass beads and general firing.

Embedded Heating Elements
The heating elements of the Kingpin 88 are completely embedded within the chamber fiber for safety. Especially important with Bead Door equipped models. The heating elements of the Kingpin 88 are located along the left and right side of the firing chamber. This design provides for excellent temperature distribution throughout the kiln.

Angled Control for Comfortable Use
The control on the Kingpin 88 is positioned at a friendly viewing and programming angle. It’s a thoughtful design feature and a detail you expect from Evenheat.

Standard Household Plug
The Kingpin 88 is designed for use on standard household voltage and current. Simply plug into any dedicated household receptacle and you're ready to go.

Attractive Powder Coat Finish
The exterior of the Kingpin 88 is finished in an attractive powder coat finish. Powder coating is a finishing method that provides great looks with greater protection against scuffs and scratches than paint.

Cool-Touch Handle
The Kingpin 88 has a non-metallic, Cool-Touch handle that stays cool throughout the firing process.

Sizable Firing Chamber
The Kingpin 88’s firing chamber is “personal studio” sized allowing the artist room to fire multiple pieces at once.

Wide Opening Door
The door on the Kingpin 88 swings out fully (180°+) for easy access to the firing chamber.

Well Ventilated Enclosure
The enclosure on the Kingpin 88 is well ventilated to keep internal control components cool and operating properly. Strategically placed inner baffles act as additional protection against heat.

Vented Chamber with Plug
The firing chamber of the Kingpin 88 is vented and is equipped with a vent plug. Venting is desirable during many heat processes, particularly lost wax casting.

I spent months researching kilns and it came down to the Kingpin 88 and the Paragon SC-3. Both are top-notch but I chose the Kingpin because of Evenheat's great customer service, the kiln's design, and other jewelry artists' glowing reviews. This kiln is reliable, well-built, and I absolutely love the powder coat finish (mine is antique gold, aka Gold Rush). It has a lower initial cost than the SC-3 and is also cheaper to operate. It arrived with a kiln shelf and posts. An added bonus is Evenheat's 2-year warranty. Very happy with my purchase!

I tried to read every review I could between the Paragon SC series and the Even-Heat Kingpin 88. Wasn't much out there, but I eventually found that the Kingpin costs less (from here) with a window door plus it was about $0.05 a kilowatt hour cheaper to operate due to it's more efficient design and materials. The Set-Pro digital panel couldn't be any easier to use. Very happy customer!
