These tongs are ideal for removing hot firing vessels from kilns. There is a build in locking mechanism that keeps them closed when not in use. Their clamshell ends facilitate their grip on most firing vessels regardless of shape. Care should be exercised in removing any hot firing vessel and we strongly recommend that removal not take place above 600ºF for the sake of safetly.
